Upload a photo of something you know: a room, a table, your own hand. A garden grows out of it, right down to the smallest detail, along the folds, lines and light that were already there. Nothing is laid on top.

Grown, not generated

Not a filter. Not a new picture.

People often ask if this is a filter, or a picture an AI made up. Look closer and you can tell it is neither.

The same fingers, grown

Grown

The same spot on the same hand. The fingers and the light are still there. The garden grew along them, not on top of them.

A filterlays one texture over the whole picture. It looks the same on skin, wood and sky, and up close it sits on top.

An AI imagepaints a new picture that looks like yours. Up close the details are made up, and every try gives you a different one.

Hofmanns Dreamgrows from your photo. Every shape starts where your photo already has something: a crease, an edge, a shadow. Up close, your photo is still there underneath.

Your place stays your place.

Every object stays where it was. The light, the shadows and the folds in the fabric all come from your photo. Only what grows is new.

Only nature grows here.

The calm, repeating patterns you find on a forest walk, grown in your photo's own colours and light. No faces in the clouds, no eyes in the wallpaper.

Composed by hand, not by chance.

Like a perfumer with a formula, we compose every recipe by eye, study after study, and release it only when it feels right. Recipe Nº 01 is the first.

The studio

Try it on something you know.

Fabric, wood, plants, stone and a good breakfast grow beautifully. Seeing it grown is free.

Seeing it grown is free. No card, no password.

Visual wellness

Made for slow looking.

Nature repeats its shapes at every scale, the way clouds and coastlines do. People have lived among these patterns forever, and many find them restful to look at.

While your photo grows, we breathe with you: in for four seconds, out for six. Afterwards, keep it as your lock screen and come back to it whenever you want a quiet minute.

The story

A passion project that would not let go.

Hofmanns Dream began in 2023 as a night project. No studio, no team: one person, a computer, and a question about what we really see when we keep looking at something.

The first films were watched tens of millions of times, mostly by people who couldn't quite say what they were looking at, only that they couldn't look away. Not everyone believed in it, and for a long while it went quiet. It never really let go.

In 2026 it came back, rebuilt from the ground up with one rule: only nature grows here. The patterns of a forest floor, growing out of the places and things you already know.

Most of the time the eye names things, cup, chair, hand, and moves on. Look a little longer and it stops naming and starts wandering. That quiet moment is what Hofmanns Dream is made for.

Questions

Good to know

Isn't this just AI, or a filter?

It is made with our own software, but it is neither of the two you may know. A filter lays the same texture over everything. An image generator paints a new picture that only looks like yours. Hofmanns Dream grows out of your photo itself: every shape follows something that is really there, so when you look closer you can still find your photo underneath.

Why does the preview only show a few places?

Seeing your photo grown is free. The preview opens a few round places on your photo, one after another, so you can see how it grew, right down to the smallest detail. The whole picture stays with us until you keep it, so it is yours alone. When you keep it, you get all of it, in full size.

Which photos work best?

Things with texture and light, seen up close: fabric, wood, plants, stone, a table after breakfast. Very smooth surfaces such as polished metal mostly stay as they are. For now we suggest places and things rather than faces.

Who can see my pictures?

Only you. They are tied to your account. Photos you don't keep are deleted after 30 days, and pictures you keep stay here for 90 days, so save them to your phone. You can delete any picture, or your whole account, at any time. Location data is removed from every upload. The privacy policy has the details.

How do I save it on my phone?

Once you keep a picture, tap “Save to photos” under it. If you opened us from Instagram or TikTok, press and hold the picture and choose “Save”.

Is it calm to look at?

Yes. Your result is a still picture in your photo's own colours. Nothing moves or flashes.

Can I grow a video?

Not yet. Films are growing now, and this studio grows photos.

Something went wrong. Who can help?

Write to us on the support page. A person answers, usually within a day or two.
